DAWG provides a safe and loving environment for dogs awaiting permanent adoption, and promotes their adoption through outreach programs in the Santa Barbara community.
Most of the dogs in our care come from Santa Barbara county shelters. Our primary goal is to reduce the rate of euthanasia in the county shelters by providing the medical care and training many dogs need for a second chance at life.
Since DAWG’s inception in 1991, we have worked hard to bring out the best in our dogs, improving their quality of life during their stay at the shelter, and placing healthy, well-behaved dogs back into the community.
Dog of the Week
This dashing boy goes by the name of Milo. He is a two-year-old white Terrier mix who is ready to welcome in his new family with open paws! He would make a wonderful companion for any family who is ready to take the leap and became first time dog owners. He is wonderful on leash, has great manners and does extremely well with small and big dogs. He comes with a great temperament and loves to snuggle after a brisk walk, run, or hike under the Santa Barbara sun. Think you're ready to take the leap? Please call Dog Adoption & Welfare Group at (805) 681-0561 or e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more on how you can give Milo the home he deserves.
All DAWG dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped and are given flea & tick protection monthly. They are eligible for consultation with a trainer as needed.
